Ericsson: wins 5G network order from Deutsche Telekom

(CercleFinance.com) - Ericsson said on Wednesday that it has won a multi-year deal with German telecommunications giant Deutsche Telekom to provide 5G equipment and services.


The Swedish mobile network maker said that Deutsche Telekom will deploy its 5G radio access network (RAN) units across Germany, without giving any financial details.

According to the terms of the deal, several mobile sites will be upgraded to the latest 5G technology standard over the next few years using Ericsson's products to dynamically manage 4G and 5G traffic, the company said.

Ericsson said that it has already successfully modernised Deutsche Telekom's 2G, 3G, and 4G networks.
