Equinor: a coronavirus case on an offshore platform

(CercleFinance.com) - Norwegian oil and gas group Equinor announced on Wednesday that an employee has tested positive for coronavirus on one of its North Sea platforms.


The person, who arrived on on 4 March from Austria, was immediately placed in quarantine in his cabin when the country joined the list of "high risk" destinations, Equinor said.

The Martin Linge platform - which is currently being built - is scheduled to start production by the end of the year.

While 776 people are currently working on the project, nobody else has presented coronavirus symptoms, Equinor says.
