AkzoNobel: buys back 136 million euros of its shares

(CercleFinance.com) - AkzoNobel has bought back close to 1.
78 million of its own ordinary shares over the past week, amounting to 136.6 million euros, the Dutch paints and coatings maker said on Monday.

The buybacks are part of a 2.5 billion euros repurchase program announced in February, which is itself part of the 6.5 billion euros being distributed to shareholders following the sale of the specialty chemicals business.

So far, under this program, 16 million ordinary shares have been repurchased; for a total price of 1.2 billion euros.

These share buybacks are due to be completed by the end of 2019.
