FCA: operating profit, margins up in third-quarter

(CercleFinance.com) - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles on Tuesday reported higher operating profit and better margins for its third quarter, boosted by higher prices and a greater market share in North America.


FCA reported a 13% rise in third-quarter adjusted earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) at 1.99 billion euros, from 1.76 billion euros a year ago.

Net revenues rose by 9% to 28.7 billion euros.

FCA's margins in the NAFTA region rose to 10.2% at the end of September, from 8% a year earlier, helped by new Jeep and Ram models.

The company confirmed its 2018 guidance, expecting revenues of between 115 billion and 118 billion euros and an adjusted EBIT of 7.5 billion to 8 billion euros.

The carmaker's shares are currently down 0.4% in Milan and up 0.5% in New York.
