ASML: wins order in Korea

(CercleFinance.com) - The Dutch semiconductor group ASML has won an order worth 3.
5 billion euros from South Korean semiconductor manufacturer SK Hynix.

In a notice filed with the stockmarket authorities in its country, SK Hynix said it had ordered several extreme ultraviolet radiation (EUV) lithography systems from the Dutch equipment manufacturer under a five-year contract.

Analysts say this is "good news" at a time when investors are looking for reassurance about ASML's commercial momentum - both in the EUV equipment market and in the DRAM memory segment.

For the record, SK Hynix recently announced that it has completed the construction of its M16 DRAM factory in South Korea, which should enable the group to start using EUV technology.
