Aegon: disposal of businesses in Czech Republic and Slovakia

(CercleFinance.com) - Aegon has announced an agreement for the sale of its activities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia to NN Group for 155 million euros, which is in line with its strategic target of optimising its portfolio and allocation of capital between its different activities.


This divestment marks another step in streamlining our geographic presence and concentrating our resources in our key markets, said CEO Alex Wynaendts.

The divested businesses achieved an underlying pre-tax profit of 16 million euros last year. The transaction is expected to be finalised in early 2019 after obtaining the usual regulatory approvals.
