Airbus: new research for hybrid aircraft

(CercleFinance.com) - Airbus and SAS Scandinavian Airlines announce the signing of an agreement on research into electric and hybrid aircraft.


They will begin this collaboration in June 2019, continuing until the end of 2020. Under the protocol, Airbus and SAS Scandinavian Airlines will collaborate in a joint research project for the large-scale development of hybrid and fully-electric aircraft for airlines.

Airbus has already started to build a portfolio of technological demonstrators and is currently testing systems, sub-systems and innovative hybrid propulsion components to meet long-term efficiency objectives for the construction and operation of electric aircraft.
