Toyota: market share increases to 7.6% in Europe
(CercleFinance.com) - Toyota Motor Europe (TME) recorded a 6% year-on-year decline in sales volume to 563,067 vehicles in H1, although note that this outperformed the overall market which posted a 19% decline.
Over the same period, TME achieved a market share of 7.6%, representing a one point increase on the previous year.
Demand for Toyota's and Lexus' low carbon electrified range continued to grow, with TME's electrified mix increasing by 6% to 76% in Western Europe and 68% in the total European market, a 9% year-on-year jump.
The group said that it is very encouraged by the record 7.6% market share in H1, given the geopolitical, economic and supply challenges. Is is seeing unprecedented demand for our new models, such as the Yaris Cross, Aygo X and Lexus NX, as well as its older models such as the Yaris, Corolla and C-HR.
