Toyota: opens fuel research facility
(CercleFinance.com) - Toyota, alongside its partners Eneos, Suzuki, Subaru, Daihatsu and Toyota Tsusho, has announced that it has created a research association for next-generation automobile fuels, including biomass innovation ("the Research Association of Biomass Innovation for Next Generation Automobile Fuels"), with the aim of studying ways to optimise fuel production processes.
It is crucial to provide a variety of energy options to meet the needs of different customers and aim for carbon neutrality, Toyota says.
This research association promotes technological research around biomass as well as the efficient production of bioethanol for automobiles through the optimised circulation of hydrogen, oxygen and CO2 during production with the aim of achieving the development of a net zero society.
The market likes this initiative, with Toyota shares currently up over 2% on this news.
