Eni: energy deal in agro-industrial supply chain

(CercleFinance.com) - Eni announces that it has signed a collaboration agreement with BF to evaluate the development of agro-industrial supply chains in Italy, recovering land that has deteriorated, been abandoned or polluted, without competing with the food chain.


The project will enhance the country's abandoned areas, recovering them and inserting them into a virtuous cycle that will at the same time offer Italian agricultural entrepreneurs new opportunities to diversify their activities, BF Spa said.

At the beginning of 2023, a pilot scheme will be launched, cultivating seeds such as safflower and brassica from which to extract vegetable oil to be sent to Eni's biorefineries, for subsequent transformation into biofuels.
