AstraZeneca: positive data for 3rd dose of Vaxzevria

(CercleFinance.com) - AstraZeneca has announced positive results for its Covid Vaxzevria vaccine in a preliminary analysis.


The data showed that a 3rd dose of Vaxzevria increased the immune response to the beta, delta, alpha and gamma variants, while a separate analysis of trial samples showed an increased antibody response to the Omicron variant.

The results were observed in people previously vaccinated with Vaxzevria or an mRNA vaccine.

This data adds to the growing body of evidence supporting Vaxzevria as a third booster dose, regardless of the primary vaccination schedules tested, the company said.

Given the ongoing urgency of the pandemic and the increased immune response of Vaxzevria to the Omicron variant, we will continue to advance regulatory submissions worldwide for its use as a third booster dose, AstraZeneca said.
