AstraZeneca: collaboration with Regeneron in obesity

(CercleFinance.com) - US-based Regeneron announced on Tuesday that it has begun a research collaboration with AstraZeneca to develop treatments for obesity and its co-morbidities.


In a statement, both companies explain that they intend to develop small molecular compounds targeting rare genetic mutations in the gene called GPR75, which are associated with greater protection against obesity.

Regeneron and AstraZeneca plan to share the costs of the program equally, as well as any profits from the project.
