AstraZeneca: expected to halve vaccine deliveries for EU

(CercleFinance.com) - The Financial Times has reported that AstraZeneca plans to halve its planned deliveries of Covid-19 vaccine to European countries this week.


The company says that the delay is due to complications in testing of one batch of vaccine.

AstraZeneca is expected to deliver 1.3 million doses to the 27 EU member states plus Iceland and Norway, instead of the planned 2.6 million doses, the newspaper said, adding that the reduction will be "evenly spread across countries".

However, the group said that it would meet its target of delivering 70 million doses in the second quarter, the Financial Times reported.
