bp: partnership with Clean Planet Energy

(CercleFinance.com) - bp announces signing a 10-year agreement with Clean Planet Energy, a UK-based company that builds facilities to convert hard-to-recycle plastic waste into circular petrochemical feedstock and also into ultra-low sulphur diesel (ULSD).

Under the new agreement, bp will receive production from Clean Planet Energy's first facility, currently being built at Teesside, north-east England, a site designed to convert some 20,000 tonnes of waste plastic per annum into naphtha and ULSD.

The partnership may be extended to other plants beyond Teesside in the future.

This long-term agreement with Clean Planet Energy for the removal of naphtha will help bp unlock new sources of value through circularity, while helping to divert plastic waste from landfill, incineration and the environment, bp summarises.
