HSBC: selects Amazon as long-term strategic cloud provider

com said on Wednesday that HSBC had signed up for its Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud unit to deliver new and personalized banking services.

As part of the long term deal, the British banking giant will use AWS's portfolio of cloud services, including storage, database, analytics, machine learning, and security.

HSBC said the move will help to develop new digital products and support security and compliance standards for millions of personal banking customers worldwide.

HSBC plans to make AWS technology available across the bank's lines of business, starting with customer applications.

Neither company disclosed the terms of the deal.
