BioMérieux: new GI test cleared by FDA

(CercleFinance.com) - bioMérieux has announced US FDA clearance for Biofire Filmarray Gastrointestinal (GI) Panel Mid, a 'midplex' molecular biology test that detects 11 of the bacteria, viruses and parasites most commonly responsible for gastroenteritis.


This diagnostic PCR solution is capable of simultaneously detecting these pathogens from stool samples. Usable on Biofire Filmarray 2.0 and Torch PCR platforms, this panel requires two minutes of preparation and delivers a result in one hour.

A new version of the test available since 2014 Biofire Filmarray Gastrointestinal (GI) Panel (which targets 22 pathogens and helps streamline laboratory workflow), it will be distributed in the US from the end of H1 2025.
