bioMérieux: CE marking for new RT-PCR test

(CercleFinance.com) - bioMérieux has announced the enhancement of its ARGENE range for the identification of SARS-CoV-2 in Real Time PCR (RT-PCR), with the SARS-COV-2 RESPI R-GENE test, which is now commercially available in Europe and in countries that recognise the CE mark.


This high-throughput test, which can be used on molecular biology platforms in both hospital and city laboratories, enables the simultaneous detection of SARS-CoV-2 and influenza A and B viruses.

In the same kit it combines a second RT-PCR assay which, from the same extraction, enables the identification of RSV (human respiratory syncytial virus) and hMPV (human metapneumovirus), which is more rarely included in panels.
