CGG: selected for plastic pollution study

(CercleFinance.com) - CGG announces that it is leading a consortium that has been selected by the European Space Agency to develop new environmental monitoring technology and services to help combat the global marine plastic waste crisis.


The first phase of the 12-month study aims to establish the technical feasibility and commercial viability of new satellite-based services to locate and track large clusters of floating plastic.

In this consortium, the geosciences group will collaborate through its analysis and processing of Earth observation satellite data and artificial intelligence models with Mott MacDonald and Brunel University in London.

The market seems pretty indifferent, however - the CGG share is down about 0.8% in early trading on Tuesday.
