CGG: completes acquisition of Cornerstone OBN

(CercleFinance.com) - CGG and Magseis Fairfield announce that they have completed the 2020 acquisition of the Cornerstone OBN study, the largest multi-client seismic seabed (OBN) study ever conducted in the Central North Sea (CNS).


Launched in March this year, the study has attracted strong interest from the industry and benefits from significant client pre-financing. Approximately 1,650 km2 of long-offset and full-azimuth field data has been acquired.

The geosciences group says that the first images should be available in the first quarter of 2021 and the final images in the fourth quarter of 2021. Further extensions to the Cornerstone OBN study are being evaluated for 2021.
