GTT: receives orders for cryogenic tanks

(CercleFinance.com) - GTT announces that in July 2024, it has received two orders from its Korean partner HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE) to design the cryogenic tanks for 12 new LNG2-powered container ships for CMA CGM.


Under these new orders, Hyundai Heavy Industries (HD HHI) and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HD HSHI) will each build six container ships.

Each vessel, with a capacity of 15,500 containers, will be fitted with LNG tanks with a total capacity of 12,750 m³. These tanks will incorporate the Mark III Flex membrane containment system developed by GTT.

Delivery of these 12 vessels will take place between the second quarter of 2027 and the second quarter of 2028.
