Suez: support from Ardian and GIP

(CercleFinance.com) - Suez says that yesterday it received a letter of intent from Ardian and GIP (Global Infrastructure Partners), "which would facilitate the emergence, and in a short time frame, of an amicable solution to the situation created by Veolia's approach".


"On such a basis, SUEZ is willing to open a dialogue with Veolia with the aim of building a solution in the interest of all concerned parties", the group said.

Suez's management believes that this letter of intent paves the way for a global solution with various possible implementation modalities of equivalent effect, including an offer by investors to purchase Suez shares at a price of 18 euros per share with coupon attached.

The Board of Directors, meeting today, unanimously welcomed this step, which paves the way for an offer to all shareholders.

The Suez share is currently on the leaderboard - up over 3% in mid-morning trading on Monday.
