Getlink: record shuttle freight traffic in October

(CercleFinance.com) - Getlink has announced that Shuttle Freight, which benefited from a storage effect ahead of the planned Brexit on 31 October, has reached a new historic record, with 153,600 trucks trasnsported, up 1%, hence overtaking the previous record of March 2019.


Passenger shuttles, driven by a favourable calendar effect linked to the October half-term holidays, carried 205,371 passenger cars in October 2019, up 1% year-on-year, posting the best October figures since 2003.

Since 1 January 2019, over 1.3 million trucks have crossed the English Channel on board Shuttle Freight, with almost 2.3 million passenger cars crossing with Le Shuttle, representing respective y-o-y falls of 5% and 2%.
