Eutelsat: agreement for sale of EBI stake

(CercleFinance.com) - Eutelsat has announced the signature of an agreement to sell its 51% stake in Euro Broadband Infrastructure (EBI) to Viasat Inc, its 49% shareholder, for an initial amount of 140 million euros.


This transaction completes the process of reorganising and simplifying Eutelsat's broadband distribution in Europe, while enabling it to free up financial resources, attributing them as a direct distribution.

Eutelsat and its subsidiaries will continue to provide transitional services to EBI, including the operation of KA SAT's terrestrial infrastructure. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2021, subject to customary conditions precedent.
