Alstom: successfully tests its technology in China

(CercleFinance.com) - Alstom announced on Friday 26 May that its Chinese joint venture Alstom NUG Propulsion System had recently successfully tested its new generation silicon carbide (SIC) and permanent magnet motor (PMM) propulsion system on a demonstration train on Chengdu's Line 7 and that the train had begun operating with passengers.


The demonstration train was the first to introduce a revolutionary traction system in China that combined both a complete silicon carbide traction converter and a permanent magnet synchronous motor, Alstom says.

It adds that the this project's completion marks the beginning of a new chapter in energy saving in the rail transport industry and is solid proof that Alstom has contributed to the high-quality growth of green and intelligent rail transport integration in China.
