Alstom: train renewal contract in Canada

(CercleFinance.com) - Yesterday evening Alstom announced that it has signed a contract worth about 118 million euros with Metrolinx for the revamp of 94 double-deck commuter train carriages for GO Transit, the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) regional public transport service in Ontario, Canada.


Refurbishment work will soon begin at Alstom's facility in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. The mid-life overhaul and upgrade of the carriages will be carried out over two years and will involve dismantling the vehicles, overhauling the parts and producing fully refurbished cars for the GO Transit fleet.

Interior updates will include the installation of new power outlets with USB ports, cosmetic updates to the panels and floor, a complete replacement of the passenger seats, toilet upgrades and proven LED lighting.
