Engie: makes green bond placement

(CercleFinance.com) - Engie says that last Friday it made a green bond placement of 1.
5 billion euros: funds raised thereby will be used exclusively to finance the company's green projects in renewable energy and energy services.

This investment was made in two tranches of 750 million euros, over periods of eight and 20 years. These new bonds bear coupons of 0.375% and 1.375% respectively, meaning an average coupon of 0.875% for a loan of an average maturity of 14 years.

With this new loan, the total amount of green bonds issued by the energy group amounts to 8.75 billion euros, making it the leading corporate green bond issuer in the world.
