Orange: heavy H1 loss with impairments in Spain

(CercleFinance.com) - Orange has reported a consolidated net loss of -2.
6 billion euros for H1 2021, as well as an operating loss of
-1.75 billion euros compared to +2.22 billion euros at 30 June 2020, including asset impairments of 3.7 billion euro in Spain.

At 5.84 billion euros, the telecoms operator's EBITDAaL was down by a limited 0.4% on a comparable basis, penalised by less co-financing received in France, while its revenue rose by 1.5% on a comparable basis to almost 20.9 billion euros.

Orange maintains its financial targets for 2021, including stable negative EBITDAaL, and organic cash flow from telecoms activities of over 2.2 billion euros. It will pay an interim 2021 dividend of 0.30 euro in cash on 15 December.
