Eramet: battery recycling project with BASF and Suez

(CercleFinance.com) - Eramet, BASF and Suez have announced that their ReLieVe (Recycling Li-ion batteries for electric Vehicle) project will receive substantial funding of 4.
7 million euros from both these groups and EIT Raw Materials, a body founded and financed by the European Union.

"The objective is to develop an innovative closed-loop process to recycle lithium-ion batteries from electric vehicles and to enable the production of new lithium-ion batteries in Europe," the group said.

From January 2020, for a period of two years, this project will develop this process on a large scale, aiming to structure an integrated industrial sector. Chimie ParisTech and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology will provide it with academic support.
