Saint-Gobain: 20-year power purchase agreement in India

(CercleFinance.com) - Saint-Gobain yesterday announced that it has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) in India with Vibrant Energy - a Macquarie Asset Management Green Investment Group (MAM-GIG) company - to supply wind and solar power to six Saint-Gobain sites in India.


The 20-year agreement will come into effect in 2024, and will increase Saint-Gobain's share of renewable electricity in India to 65% by 2025.

Under the agreement, Vibrant Energy will supply Saint-Gobain with 189 GWh of renewable electricity (solar and wind) per year, reducing Saint-Gobain's CO2 emissions in India by around 120,000 tonnes per year.
