Veolia: issues 6-year bond with negative rate

(CercleFinance.com) - Veolia says that it has successfully issued 700 million euros in bonds, maturing in January 2027 at a negative rate of -0.
021%, a first for a BBB issuer on this maturity. The proceeds will be used for its general financing needs.

The receipt from the operation by investors resulted in an order book reaching up to two billion euros, strong demand having significantly improved the conditions of the issue, until to achieve this negative return.

"The high level of oversubscription, the quality of the investor base and the outstanding conditions that were achieved are signals of the significant appreciation of Veolia's credit quality," the utilities group said.
