Thales: to deliver hull of SAS 'Bishop' module
(CercleFinance.com) - Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), announces that the pressurised hull of the SAS Bishop module is ready to be delivered to the NanoRacks integration Center in Houston, Texas.
The SAS NanoRacks module - dubbed Bishop - is the first commercial SAS for the ISS. Its launch is scheduled for January 2020 aboard the SpaceX CRS-21 Launcher.
To this program, Thales brings over 40 years of experience in design and advanced technology solutions relating to the ISS. It intends to continue to provide this expertise in view of future opportunities in new commercial markets, said Walter Cugno, Vice President, Exploration and Science, at Thales Alenia Space.
