Sanofi: sells Seprafilm to Baxter International

(CercleFinance.com) - Sanofi has signed a definitive agreement to sell Seprafilm Adhesion Barrier and associated assets to Baxter International.


Baxter has confirmed the purchase of this business for a purchase price of 350 million dollars. The deal is set to be completed by the first quarter of 2020.

Seprafilm is currently present on internationally, including in the United States, Japan, China, South Korea and France. Full-year sales are expected to reach about 100 million dollars.

"While Seprafilm is clinically recognized among surgeons globally, we plan to provide commercial support for the product through our dedated surgery salesforce and pursue opportunities for expansion in certain countries," said Wil Boren, general manager of Baxter's Advanced Surgery business.
