Carrefour: preliminary talks interrupted

(CercleFinance.com) - At the weekend Carrefour and Alimentation Couche-Tard announced that, in light of recent events, they have interrupted preliminary discussions regarding a potential merger, discussions that were initiated following a friendly approach from the Canadian group.


However, they have decided to extend their discussions to examine opportunities for operational partnerships, focusing on areas such as the sharing of good practices in fuel distribution or the development of joint purchases.

Areas considered include the development and marketing of private labels, innovations to improve the customer experience, and the optimisation of product distribution in regions where both groups operate.
