Air Liquide: agreement signed with Sasol for Secunda site

(CercleFinance.com) - Following its announcement on 29 July, Air Liquide says that it has signed an agreement with Sasol for the French industrial gases group to acquire the world's largest oxygen production site, located in Secunda, South Africa.


Under the terms of the agreement, Air Liquide will own and operate the 16 air separation units at this site, in addition to the unit that it already operates there. It will supply various gases to Sasol under a long-term contract with an initial duration of 15 years.

The initial investment amounts to approximately 440 million euros. These agreements are subject to the usual conditions precedent (notably the green light from the local competition authority), which are not expected before December.
