Safran: selected to power the H140 helicopter
(CercleFinance.com) - Safran Helicopter Engines has been selected by Airbus Helicopters to power its H140, a new twin-engine light helicopter in the 3-ton class powered by the Arrius 2E, rated at 700 shp.
The most advanced model in the Arrius family, the Arrius 2E inherits the innovative technologies developed for the Arriel 2E and Arrano 1A engines (which power the H145 and H160 helicopters respectively) to enhance its operability and competitiveness. Thanks to these improvements, the Arrius 2E benefits from reduced operating costs and a streamlined maintenance program, with a time between overhaul (TBO 3) of no less than 5,000 hours from entry into service, Safran says.
