Atos: shareholders and creditors convened to discuss safeguard plan
(CercleFinance.com) - In a press release issued on Friday evening, Atos announced that it had convened its shareholders and creditors to adopt the proposed accelerated sauvegarde plan.
The technology group, which is in serious financial difficulty, says that the creditors concerned can vote electronically from Friday until September 26.
Their votes will be counted on September 27.
For shareholders, a face-to-face meeting will be held on Friday September 27, with the option of voting by post, by proxy or electronically.
For the record, the accelerated safeguard procedure opened by the Nanterre Commercial Court is designed to implement the terms of the financial restructuring plan unveiled in July.
The placement concerns only financial debt, ranging from bond issues to revolving credit facilities and term loans.
This announcement comes at a time when the daily newspaper Les Echos writes that the company's creditors, who will become the main shareholders at the end of the restructuring, consider the price offered by the French State for the strategic activities of the cybersecurity subsidiary BDS (700 million euros) to be too low.
In any case, a decision must be taken quickly, as the agreement signed in the spring provides for the French State to pay 150 million euros in advance and a further 150 million by September 30", analysts at Invest Securities pointed out this morning.
On the Paris Bourse, Atos shares rebounded slightly (+1.8%) in line with the Paris market as a whole this morning, but are still down more than 90% since the start of the year.
