Nexans: signs contract for Scottish submarine line

(CercleFinance.com) - Nexans will ensure the continuity of the submarine high-voltage electricity transmission line between Kintyre and Hunterston in Scotland for SSEN Transmission.


With a capacity of 150 MW for transporting renewable energy on the network, this cable plays a key role in the transition to carbon neutrality.

A key aspect entailed the laying of submarine cables in water depths of over 100 metres, on a route of 41 km bypassing the Isle of Arran and crossing the Firth of Clyde.
