Air France-KLM: Q1 loss down slashed

(CercleFinance.com) - Air France-KLM has reported a net loss of 552 million euros for the first three months of the year, representing an improvement of 930 million euros year-on-year, in addition to an operating loss of 350 million euros, while EBITDA was positive at 221 million euros.

The Franco-Dutch airline explains that this improvement in profitability was thanks to a strong increase in revenues to 4.44 billion euros, which more than doubled (+104.4%) year-on-year.

It also announced positive adjusted free operating cash flow of 630 million euros, thanks to dynamic ticket sales in March, and expects to break even at the operating level in Q2, followed by significant operating profit in Q3.

The market has greeted this news with open arms this morning, with the share up over 3.5% in early trading.
