Nokia: launches 'C-band' portfolio after US auction

(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia said on Tuesday that its "C-band" portfolio will be made available in the first quarter in order to support mobile operators' 5G network deployments following recent auctions in the US.


The portfolio covers both indoor and outdoor deployment needs, includes massive MIMO and hybrid antennae, and small cell solutions to fullfill all requirements, the Finnish company said.

C-band spectrum, between 3.4 GHz and 4.2 GHz, is dubbed a crucial resource for operators to offer the best 5G network capacity and coverage to users.

The move comes as the US FCC recently completed an auction, which received significant interest from mobile operators, meaning that the rollout of C-band networks will start in the coming months.
