Nokia: to deploy private 5G network at German campus

(CercleFinance.com) - Nokia said on Thursday that it will deploy a private 5G standalone network across the Kaiserslautern university campus, under a partnership with Smart Mobile Labs, the largest 5G system integrator in Germany.


Smart Mobile Labs has won the University of Kaiserslautern (Technische Universität Kaiserslautern TUK) public tender for five campus networks that are funded by the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure.

Under a three-year deal, Nokia will provide TUK with 5G connectivity, boosting the development of new 5G research and use case testing across the university's faculties.
