Almirall: research plan gets 120 million euros EIB loan

(CercleFinance.com) - Almirall's research into new skin disease treatments has secured a 120 million euro loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB), the Spanish drugmaker said on Wednesday.


The Barcelona-based group said that it will benefit from the EIB's favourable interest rate and repayment terms to fund research into therapeutic indications for which there is currently no effective treatment, the group said.

The research will specifically focus on atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, actinic keratosis, and treatment for congenital disorders, such as epidermolysis bullosa.

This agreement between the EIB and Almirall was signed as part of the Investment Plan for Europe, also known as the "Juncker Plan".
