Osram: stock gains after strong start to fiscal year

(CercleFinance.com) - After a "challenging" fiscal year in 2019, Osram has had a "robust start" to fiscal year 2020, as its revenue in the first quarter grew slightly on a comparable basis.


The German lighting group said revenue in the quarter ending December grew by 0.5% to 873 million euros, with its adjusted EBITDA margin up nearly 2% at 13% on a comparable basis.

In particular, the group's semiconductor business showed a significant recovery in margins, Osram said.

Osram is now mainly owned by ams after the Austrian sensor specialist launched a takeover bid on the company. The merger is expected to be completed in late 2020.

The Osram stock is currently up 1% in Frankfurt.
