Daimler Truck: unsurprising quarterly results

(CercleFinance.com) - On Friday Daimler Truck reported Q3 operating profit that more than doubled, with strong demand helping to offset supply difficulties and rising raw material costs.


The German group's operating profit rose to 1.27 billion euros in the period, well over double the 491 million euros reported a year ago, on sales that jumped 47% to 13.5 billion euros.

Meanwhile, deliveries reached 134,972 units, 27% more than the 106,304 in Q3 2021, vehicles it said were sold at higher prices.

The operating margin for Mercedes-Benz Cars, its flagship brand, was 9.2% in the quarter, pretty much triple the 3.1% a year earlier.
