Bayer: expands fruit and vegetable business

(CercleFinance.com) - Bayer announces an agreement with the British company NIAB for the acquisition of its strawberry production products and commercial portfolio.


Bayer will increase its focus on professional growers of protected crops to meet growing consumer and retailer demand for strawberries.

Strawberries are the fastest-growing fruit crop, with demand outstripping supply all year long. In fact, strawberries are the leaders in the fruit and vegetable category, representing over 23% of fresh fruit sales, Bayer said.
