BASF: factory fire disrupts deliveries
(CercleFinance.com) - Following a fire at a BASF factory in Ludwigshafen, Germany, on July 29, 2024, BASF declares force majeure on deliveries of certain vitamin A, vitamin E and carotenoid products, as well as selected aroma ingredients, with immediate effect and until further notice.
The selected aroma ingredients are ionones, pyranol, DL-menthol, rose oxides, ethyllinalol, nerolidol and isophytol R.
BASF is in close contact with customers to share updates and developments regarding supply capacity for the products concerned.
The fire occurred in a BASF plant that manufactures aromatic ingredients and precursors for the production of vitamin A, vitamin E and carotenoids.
