Hugo Boss: Daniel Grieder appointed new CEO

(CercleFinance.com) - On Wednesday Hugo Boss officially confirmed the appointment of Daniel Grieder, who had been the boss of the US stylist Tommy Hilfiger since 2014, as its new boss.

This appointment was widely expected since the announcement at the end of March of the planned departure of CEO Mark Langer "by mutual agreement" with the Supervisory Board.

"Daniel Grieder was our top choice for the position of CEO," the German ready-to-wear company said in a statement.

"His international expertise, charismatic personality and extensive global experience in brand management, product, distribution, marketing, and digitalization make him the ideal candidate," Hugo Boss said.

Grieder, who is 58 years old and of Swiss origin, will officially take up his post for a five-year term from June 2021, with Mark Langer not expected to leave the Metzingen group before the end of September this year.

During this transition period, the CFO Yves Müller will act as the official spokesperson for the Management Board.
