Volkswagen: Audi unveils aims in electric mobility

(CercleFinance.com) - After presenting its first e-tron electric SUV in September, Audi, the upmarket brand of German car maker Volkswagen, yesterday unveiled its ambitions in this area.


Between 2019 and the end of 2023, the Audi brand intends to invest about 14 billion euros in electric mobility, digitalization and autonomous driving, out of total projected expenditures of about 40 billion euros for the group. This capital expenditures will cover both factories and research and development (R&D) facilities. It will also enable the group to offer approximately 20 electrified models, about half of which will have all-electric drive systems.

Audi's interim CEO, Bram Schot said, “We are systematically moving towards electric mobility.”
