Volkswagen: confirms 'in principle' 2025 targets

(CercleFinance.com) - Volkswagen "in principle" confirmed its strategic targets for 2025, while also specifying that it will have to apply "systematic cost discipline" to reach its long-term goals.


The German auto giant also used the opportunity to confirm its outlook for 2019, saying that the company remained"very robust" in the face of increasingly difficult economic conditions.

In 2020, the group's operating margin before special items should remain at 6.5% to 7.5%, the carmaker said, aiming at a level of 7% to 8% by 2025.

In the automotive division, the return on investment should be between 12% and 14% from 2020 onwards, while exceeding the 14% mark as from 2025.

VW also plans to achieve net cashflow of at least 10 billion euros in the auto unit by 2025.

The share was down almost 3.5% in Frankfurt after this statement.
