Siemens: collaboration with US agritech 80 Acres Farms

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens announced on Monday that it will soon be collaborating with 80 Acres Farms, a US specialist in indoor vertical farming of greens.


Following an investment in the "agri-tech" company by its financial arm, Siemens Financial Services, the German industrial giant now intends to offer 80 Acres Farms its software and equipment.

The group explains that it is able to provide its partner with artificial intelligence, automation and energy management tools to improve performance.

After starting with five Ohio-based sites, 80 Acres Farms plans to open new systems in Kentucky and Georgia in the near future, as well as R&D centres in Arkansas and the Netherlands.
