Siemens: completes acquisition of Brightly

(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday Siemens announced that it has completed the acquisition of Brightly Software, a US software company specialising in digital building operations.


Brightly, which develops cloud-based asset and maintenance management software, is to become part of Siemens Smart Infrastructure (SI), the Siemens branch dedicated to building, energy systems and infrastructure technologies.

The German industrial group said that the deal would enable it to position itself in this fast-growing market: seven billion people are expected to live in urban areas by 2050.

Brightly, which is headquartered in Cary, North Carolina, has 800 employees and a portfolio of around 12,000 customers, mainly in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia.
